Summary Omnis provides a reliable and efficient ICANN accredited, domain name registration service at competitive prices. Similar to Aplus.Net, Omnis is strong, but not exceptional, in nearly every way. Netfirms, Aplus.Net and iPower all offer lower prices and similar feature packages. Moniker offers far better domain management tools and customer support. Services Through Omnis Network, you can register the following generic TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .us, each of which costs $7.95, as well as a few international TLDs, namely .co.uk, .cc and .bz. These are some of the best prices that you can find without a quantity restriction, and Omnis will provide customers with significant discounts, if they register a large number of domains at once (if you register 200+ .com domains, then the price drops to $6.50). Size Ranked by the number of customer accounts, Omnis is one of the top twenty domain name registars. As of this writing, Omnis has over 200,000 customer accounts. Customer Support As we mentioned above, some of Omnis Network's customers have written about problems that they have experienced with the registrar's customer support. We have never had any problem with Omnis Network's registration service and have maintained a few dozen domains with them for nearly five years, during which time we have spoken with extremely knoledgeable technicians several times. Similar to the larger domain registrars, customer support via toll free phone and email is 365/24/7. Room for Improvement (1) Omnis Network's .com price is extremely competitive; however, its .net and .info prices are not. Many domain professionals are starting to stray from the .com path, and for these domain resellers, more competitive .net and .info prices will be important. (2) If Omnis offered a free e-mailbox with each domain, then we would have given it a better rating. Combined with its low prices, free domain forwarding and free WHOIS privacy, this change would give it a competitive advantage (Netfirms offers this package of features for free already; however, there is a quantity restriction on the number of domains that you can register at Netfirm's discount price). |
