Gaming Domain Name Sales in October: $134,489
07, November 2007
In October, the gaming domain market came back from September's low water mark with a fury, thanks in large part to Moniker's T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East Conference, at which three gaming domains were sold: Scores.mobi for $33,000, Lotto.info for $12,500 and FreeCellGame.com for $1,650.
Scores.mobi led this month's gaming domain charts, marking the second month this year, in which the .mobi (mobile domain TLD) extension has led the pack. In February, Sportsbook.mobi led the charge with a ~$130,000 sale.
A few notes: Scores.com is the leader on the 2007 YTD gaming domain name sales charts at $1.1M (that sale occurred in May at Moniker's Casino Affiliates Convention in Amsterdam). Scores.mobi's $33,000 sale matches the $33,000 paid for Gamble.mobi earlier this year.
As usual, Sedo, alongside its powerhouse GreatDomains subsidiary, reported that it sold more gaming domains than any other domain exchange. Sedo sold 12 gaming domains in October; its best month since we started this blog. Sedo sold PokerVIP.com for $20,000, BingoUniversal.com for $9,489, Poker.com.es for $5,703, Game-Over.com for $5,000, iGame.es for $4,990, FreePoker.de for $4,249, iGame.eu for $2,903, iGame.org for $2,500, Hacks.info for $2,250, GameRentals.net for $2,000, VideoGames.biz for $1,700 (this is without question one of the best gaming domain name buys that has been reported in years!) and PlayGame.mobi for $1,000. Interestingly, a buyer has collected six "iGame" TLD properties on Sedo over the last few months (including iGame.co.uk for $4,025 in September, as well as i-Game.com for $3,304 and iGame.biz for $1,000 in August).
The AfternicDLS and SnapNames juggernauts chipped in three gaming domain name sales apiece, headlining unusually weak months for either platform. AfternicDLS sold iLeague.com for $2,500 (nice buy!), GamingIntelligence.com for $2,500 and PlayBingo.org for $1,488, while SnapNames sold VideoGameCheat.net for $2,999, GameReplay.com for $2,900, and DigitalPlay.com for $2,549.
GoDaddy's TDNAM had two gaming domain name sales this month: WinnersWindowsCasino.com for $2,140 (ouch!) and TexasHoldemBlog.com for $2,000.
Lastly, CasualGames.biz was picked up for a buyer friendly $1,980 in a private sale.

Steal of the Month: VideoGames.biz for $1,700. Are you kidding me? The keyword "Video Games" receives 841M results on Google and over a quarter million people search for the term every day! For the record, we think that iLeague.com for $2,500 was also a bargain purchase with great brand potential.
Dog of the Month: WinnersWindowsCasino.com for $2,140. Hmmm... This domain could also double as a tongue twister. It has a lot of letters, one good keyword (but terrible URL keyword density, which is what impacts organic search results) and it is a terrible brand name.
